The United States Air Force Reserve's 910th Aerial Spray Squadron from Youngstown Air Reserve Station (YARS), Ohio performed an aerial spray to control mosquito populations over JB Charleston, SC on June 15th, 2013. The aerial spray mission is designed to control disease-carrying insects, pest insects, undesirable vegetation, and to disperse oil spills in large bodies of water. The 910th Airlift Squadron utilizes specialized equipment, highly trained personnel, and the only large area fixed-wing aerial spray capable C-130 in the Department of Defense.
