On 10 July 2013, the Director of Marine Corps Staff (DMCS), LtGen Willie J. Williams, retires from the U.S. Marine Corps after serving over 40 years. The 35th Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen James F. Amos, was the retiring official during the ceremony. The ceremony took place in the Marine Barracks Washington in Washington, D.C. The ceremony includes the U.S. Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, Marine Corps Color Guard, and Marine Platoons from the Marine Barracks Washington.
