The Armed Forces Reserve Center in Wilmington, N.C., conducted a memorialization ceremony July 13, 2013, in honor of Sgt. Thomas J. Butler, IV. During the ceremony the center was named the SGT Thomas J. Butler, IV, Armed Forces Reserve Center. Butler was killed in action while assigned to the 514th Military Police Company, North Carolina Army National Guard, in Afghanistan Oct. 1, 2012.
