Work continues to make safe and reinforce the substructure of the Bird Island Pier, Buffalo, NY. A seemingly impossible task that is being completed because of the grit and determination of the crew of Buffalo District Floating Plant, July 26, 2013.
Concrete is being blown into voids of the substructure and over placed stone to make the substructure solid once again. This process will protect the pier from wave and ice action of the mighty Niagara River.
