KFOR soldiers and members from EULEX and the Kosovo Police conducted a practical crowd and riot control exercise at Camp Vrelo Oct. 16. The exercise was part of the annual 3-day “Silver Saber” training exercise designed to improve crowd and riot control capabilities and develop coordination with the different security elements in Kosovo.
The practical exercise highlighted KFOR’s ability to respond to any incident throughout Kosovo with its airmobile CRC capabilities. It also gave the different units an opportunity to practice relieving another unit currently engaged in a CRC event, significantly enhancing KFOR’s ability to communicate between different units and operate as a team. Produced by Sgt. Joshua Stoffregen. Includes soundbites from Capt. Matthew Ervin, Multinational Battle Group-East operations officer, from Elmira, N.Y., Sgt Ray Regan, Multinational Battle Group-East forward command post, and Austrian Army Capt. Trixl Johannes, Alpha Company commander, Multinational Battle Group-West Maneuver Battalion.
