The Department of Social Welfare and Distribution (DSWD) and Philippine Marines support localcivilians in Tacloban, Republic of the Philippines, by giving them food, clothes, water, and any basic materials they need. The DSWD and Philippine Marines continue to assist local civilians by personally going through the city of Tacloban handing out necessities. U.S. Marine Corps Forces Pacific maintain significant capability forward deployed throughout the Asia-Pacific ready to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
