ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Overflight imagery of the water and mud floes affecting the Drift River Terminal at the base of Mt. Redoubt. The volcano erupted Monday, March 23, 2009, resulting in plumes of ash and the release of muddy water and lahars from the summit of the mountain down through the Drift River Valley toward the facility on Cook Inlet. Coast Guard and the Alaska Dept. of Environmental Conservation are working with Cook Inlet Pipeline Company to assess the site. Approximately 148,000 barrels of crude oil are located on the facility. The tank farm is unaffected.(Video courtesy/Alaska Volcano Observatory)
