Coast Guard Cutter Mobile Bay, a 140-foot ice-breaking tug homeported in Sturgeon Bay, Wisc., sails through ice and heavy seas in Straits of Mackinac Jan. 13.

The Mobile Bay is one of eight Coast Guard icebreakers working to keep commerce moving on the Great Lakes during the winter months.
