Approximately 50 Marines with Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, take the battalion’s scout sniper screener hosted by the battalion’s Scout Sniper Platoon. The course is designed to screen sniper hopefuls prior to attendance of scout sniper school. The Marines are put through three days of intense physical and mental training designed to simulate the rigors they would experience at the schoolhouse. By the end of the training, only 11 remained as scout sniper hopefuls for the schoolhouse. Includes sound bites from Sgt. Jeffrey C. Ocheskey, Team Leader, Scout Sniper Platoon, BLT 2/5, 31st MEU.
