Lieutenant General John R. Vines, Commanding General, Multinational Corps Iraq and 18th Airborne Corps awards the 617th Military Police Company with three Silver Stars, three Bronze Stars, with valor devices and two Army Commendation Medals with valor devices for their actions during an ambush by approximately 40-50 insurgents on March 20, 2005. They eliminated more than 30-anti Iraqi forces during the fight. Silver Stars were awarded to Staff Sergeant Timothy Nein (hometown: Henryville, IN), SGT Leigh Ann Hester (hometown: Bowling Green, KY), and Specialist Jason Mike (Radcliff, KY). Bronze Stars with "V" device were awarded to Specialist Ashley Pullen (hometown: Danville, KY), Specialist William Haynes II and Specialist Casey Cooper (hometown: Princeton, KY). Army Commendation Medals with "V" device were awarded to Sergeant Dustin Morris (hometown: Murray, KY) and Specialist Jesse Ordunez (hometown: Marshall County, KY).
