The FEMA Region III Homeland Response Force, led by the Pennsylvania National Guard, conducted its exercise evaluation Aug. 18-22. The unit is an on-call force in charge of responding to large-scale disasters across FEMA Region III. It provides elements specializing in command & control, security, search & extraction, decontamination, and more. Soldiers assigned to the Homeland Response Force and its affiliated units come from all across Pennsylvania. It's headquarters element, the 55th Armor Brigade, is headquartered in Scranton.
