Marines with the Reconnaissance Detachment, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, conduct amphibious reconnaissance training as part of the 11th MEU's WESTPAC 14-2 deployment, on Marine Corps Base Hawaii. The 11th MEU and Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group are deployed as a sea based expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious missions across the full range of military operations.
