The 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) held an uncasing ceremony at the 1st Lt. David R. Wilson Armed Forces Reserve Center here on Sept. 14.
Soldiers, families, and honored guests were in attendance to witness Brig. Gen. Francisco A. Espaillat, commander general of the 143d ESC, and Command Sgt. Maj. Paul Leckinger, Command Sgt. Maj. 143d ESC, uncase the unit colors signifying the units return home.
The Headquarters, Headquarters Company 143d ESC recently returned from a nine-month deployment in Support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Nearly 300 Soldiers from HHC, 143d ESC split into several elements and were deployed to Afghanistan, Kuwait, and other countries throughout the Southwest Asia region.
Following the uncasing of the colors, a change of responsibility was conducted with Command Sgt. Maj. Orlando Santiago accepting the position of senior noncommissioned officer of the 143d ESC from outgoing Command Sgt. Maj. Paul Leckinger.
