November 25th marks the 51st anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s funeral at Arlington National Cemetery.
VSOT Script for Historic Footage:
51 Years ago, the nation watched as our 35th president, John F. Kennedy, was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery. [Possible NAT SOUND: ‘… our beloved Jack Kennedy’] Overhead, 50 Navy and Air Force jets flew past the gravesite followed by Air Force One. In his inaugural address President Kennedy said, “And the glow from that fire can truly light the world”. Mrs. Kennedy lit the torch that became the Eternal Flame honoring his service and sacrifice. Millions visit the flame each year and it continues to be one of the most visited memorials at the cemetery. Today, Arlington National Cemetery is the final resting place for more than 400,000 American heroes.
