U.S. Marines with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit load onto U.S. navy LCACs (Landing Craft, Air Cushion) at Arta Beach, Djibouti after completing several days of maintenance on their vehicles that could not be completed aboard ship. The 26th MEDU is a Marine Air-Ground Task Force forward deployed the U.S. 5th Fleet aboard the USS Kearsarge serving as a sea based, expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious operations across the full range of military operations.
