Fort Bliss’ Special Operations Recruitment Battalion hosted a fitness and team-building competition in honor of fallen hero, Green Beret, and El Paso native Staff Sgt. Joshua Mills.
Staff Sgt. Mills died Sep. 16, 2009 after his vehicle struck an IED while conducting a mounted patrol in support of combat operations in Ghur Ghuri, Afghanistan. He was serving with Company A, 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Operations Group (Airborne) while assigned to the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force – Afghanistan.
For the Inaugural Staff Sgt. Joshua Mills Commando Competition, 1st Armored Division and Fort Bliss Soldiers celebrated the fighting spirit and ultimate sacrifice of Staff Sgt. Mills.
Please watch and enjoy this video presentation, produced by the Fort Bliss Visual Information Branch, which features competition, interviews with Soldiers from participating units, and the parents of Staff Sgt. Joshua Mills.
