3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion provides armored support and mobility from ship to shore as well as
inland objectives. Since WWII, the AAV community has helped define the Marine Corps. It’s the sole
platform that the Marine Corps mans, trains and equips to provide the connector from ship to shore
across the scope of military operations.
