The 56th Fighter Wing at Luke Air Force Base, Ariz., officially begins training F-35 student pilots. The Wing's first F-35 Lightning II training sortie was completed by the 56th Fighter Wing Commander, Brigadier General Scott Pleus. Luke AFB will now train both F-16 and F-35 pilots, and the first official class of student pilots will begin training at the base's Academic Training Center in May 2015.
