Maj. Scotty Autin, operations officer, Special Troops Battalion, 173rd Airborne Brigade speaks on the importance of multinational exercise Saber Junction 2015. Saber Junction 15 is USAREUR-led exercise designed to train a brigade-level unit to interoperate with allied and partner nations as part of a combined operation. This exercise takes place in Germany, Lithuania, Italy and Romania. Saber Junction 15 sustains interoperability between NATO allies and partner nation forces gained during combat and multinational contingency operations over the past seven decades, while focusing on building on capacity for the current and future operational environment. Saber Junction 15 participation includes 18 nations. These nations include the following NATO allies: Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary, Great Britain, Latvia, Luxemburg, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Turkey, Lithuania, and the United States; and the following NATO Partnership for peace (PfP) nations: Armenia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina, Serbia and Sweden and will train more than 5,000 service members.
