U.S. service members from Joint Task Force 505 transported humanitarian aid using U.S. Marine Corps UH-1Y Venom Huey, at Kathmandu, Nepal, May 9. Interview conducted with U.S Marine Corps Capt. Dustin Lukasiewicz, UH-1Y pilot assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 469 and Nepalese Special Forces Capt. Subash Jung Thapa. The Nepalese government requested assistance after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the country April 25. The U.S. government ordered JTF 505 to provide unique capabilities to assist Nepal.
