With Guardsmen arriving from California, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Guam, and the command center stood up at Joint Task Force 5-0. Exercise Vigilant Guard / Makani Pahili 2015 started in ernest today marking the beginning of Hawaii’s hurricane season. VG/MP15 will be held over the next eight days, at multiple locations, on four Hawaiian Islands and will have over twenty two hundred participants. More than 700 of those participants are coming from other states and Guam. Observers from seven Asia-Pacific countries are also attending.
