    1st Infantry Division

    The 1st Infantry Division community welcomed a new deputy commanding general and bid farewell to three deputy commanding generals during a July 30 Victory with Honors ceremony in Victory Park.
    Brig. Gen. John S. Kolasheski is the "Big Red One's" deputy commanding general for maneuver. Kolasheski previously served with the 1st Inf. Div. as executive officer for the 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment; brigade operations officer for the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team 1st Infantry Division, including duty in Iraq; and later as deputy division operations officer.
    Brig. Gen. Eric J. Wesley, served as the deputy commanding general for support, and is departing Fort Riley to serve as deputy director of program analysis and evaluation for the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, financial management, in Washington, D.C.
    Brig. Gen. Thomas C. Graves was the deputy commanding general for operations, and departed the 1st Inf. Div. to serve as deputy commanding general for operations with Eighth Army-Korea.
    UK Brigadier Christopher Ghika served as deputy commanding general for readiness and is departing to serve as Head of Personnel Strategy for the British Army. Ghika is an officer in the British army and served with the Big Red One as part of a senior leader exchange program.
    Also during the July 30 ceremony, Col. Peter G. Minalga was welcomed as the division's new chief of staff, replacing Brig. Gen. Kenneth L. Kamper. Kamper, who will next command U.S. Army Operational Test Command at III Corps and Fort Hood, Texas, was promoted at an event before the ceremony. Minalga commanded the now-inactivated 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division.
