When a disaster strikes, many times the basic communication infrastructure is destroyed. Cellular towers and internet network providers can go down, and having a plan to set up reliable communications after a disaster is key to saving lives. A major exercise is underway in the Philippines this week and representatives from 21 Pacific nations are getting hands on training with mobile communication and satellite networks to use in case a disaster or crisis occurs. Tech Sgt. Todd Kabalan takes us to Manila for Exercise Pacific Endeavor 2015. Produced by Tech. Sgt. Todd Kabalan. Includes soundbites from Marine Maj. Erika Teichert, Naval Post Graduate School.
