Each fall, the Department comes together in recognition of a single recipient of the DoD David O. Cooke Excellence in Public Administration Award (EPAA) and 6 to 8 recipients of the Competitive DoD Distinguished Civilian Service Award (DCSA). This year marks the 60th presentation of the Competitive DoD DCSA and the 11th presentation of the DoD David O. Cooke EPAA. This 40-minute ceremony that has traditionally been hosted by the Secretary or Deputy Secretary of Defense will act as an opportunity to recognize 9 DoD career civilians from across the country that contributed to the betterment of the Department and our Nation.
