U.S. Army soldiers from the 266th Engineer Detachment of the South Carolina National Guard support local fire departments around the clock with emergency calls after severe flooding caused widespread damage in the Columbia S.C. area. The South Carolina National Guard has been activated to support state and county emergency management agencies and local first responders as historic flooding impacts counties statewide. Currently, more than 1,800 South Carolina National Guard members are still activated in response to the floods. Includes soundbites from Spc.
