The Marine Corps Unit Energy Manager (UEM) Program was launched in March 2015 to designate an energy point of contact in each Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) unit on an installation. To date, over 250 UEMs have been assigned and are going through training and executing their roles. The program is already increasing Marine awareness of energy consumption, encouraging efficient habits, identifying energy vulnerabilities, maintenance opportunities, and providing energy use data for unit, installation, and Headquarters Marine Corps leadership.
