Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st Class Ronald Heard talks about the Coast Guard’s involvement in the 2015 Bayou Classic, an annual football game between Grambling State University and Southern University held the week of Thanksgiving in New Orleans.
The Coast Guard was a sponsor of the 2015 Bayou Classic football game and series of fan events, such as the College & Career Fair and Fan Fest. Coast Guard members from Coast Guard District Eight interacted with the community during several of the fan events and brought attention to the Coast Guard’s College Student Pre-commissioning Initiative, the only scholarship offered by the Coast Guard.
