    U.S. Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Paul Zukunft recognizes the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star from Seattle for their quick-thinking and ingenuity that helped save the mission of the nation’s only heavy icebreaker during a recent deployment to Antarctica June 16, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. The Cutter Polar Star has been in service for more than 40 years and is the nation’s only heavy icebreaker capable of providing year-round access to the Arctic Ocean and operating in Antarctic.
