Maria Ward, a military police Soldier with the 919th Military Police Company, speaks of her involvement with the New Mexico National Guard's response to the 2016 Southwestern Wildfire dubbed the Dog Head Fire. A resident of Moriarty, a town less than a 20 minute drive away, Ward said this fire hit a little too close to home.
