"We are going to form here on this parade field and ... in our hundredth year become combat veterans of the 'Big Red One,'" said Col. John Cyrulik, commander of the 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division. "I couldn't be more proud of our team."
Soldiers of the 1st CAB conducted a colors casing ceremony at Fort Riley's historic Cavalry Parade Field Aug.15. The "Demon" brigade is set to deploy to #Afghanistan as part of a regular rotation of forces in support of Operation Resolute Support and Operation Freedom's Sentinel, where they will conduct full-spectrum aviation operations promoting security and stability in the region.
