Airmen from the 455th Expeditionary Maintenance squadron’s “Phase” shop overhaul the F-16s at Bagram Airfield. Their work is critical to the safety of the pilots and those on the ground that rely on close air support to accomplish their missions’. The difference between them and the maintenance troops that fix the F-16s on the flight line, is that they go more in depth on their inspections and repairs based on an inspection schedule that occurs after a specified number of hours has been flown in the aircraft.
