The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District provided an update on the completion of remediation efforts at the Lewisville Lake Dam during a media event and walking tour of the remediation area at Lewisville Lake on October 11.
The Lewisville Lake Dam is among 25 flood-risk management reservoirs operated by the district that experienced an estimated $30 million in damages last year, with a record 10 of these 25 reservoirs going into surcharge operations. Twenty-three of the lakes retained floodwater and prevented an estimated $7 billion in downstream damages.
Col. Calvin C. Hudson II, Commander of the Fort Worth District accompanied by other district subject-matter experts and Congressional members updated the media on remediation of the Lewisville Lake Dam.
