B-Roll footage, to include time lapse video from start to finish, of the 2nd Infantry Division's "Living Patch." More than 5,000 "Warrior Division" Soldiers as well as Soldiers from the Republic of Korea Army, took part in the event held at Camp Casey, South Korea.
It also includes holiday "Shout Outs" as well as "Go Army, Beat North Texas" in preparation for the Heart of Dallas Bowl on December 28.
WHO: All Media
WHAT: Media are invited to attend the recreation of the Indianhead Living Insignia. 2ID/RUCD forms a human version of the 2ID/RUCD patch using 2ID/RUCD Soldiers. The coming together of the various units within 2ID/RUCD to create the living patch promotes morale and contributes to the 100-year anniversary and traditions of the 2nd Infantry Division.
WHEN: December 21, 1100
WHERE: Indianhead Field, Camp Casey.
WHY: 2nd Infantry Division originally took a photo of its Soldiers in 1925, arrayed in the formation of the 2ID Soldier Patch. That photo has been displayed at the 2ID Museum in Korea and serves as a visual link to the long and storied history of this Division. Many of the Soldiers in 1925 served valiantly in World War I and many would go on to serve in other conflicts. Again in 2009, 2ID Soldiers gathered to replicate the 2ID patch. The proud 2ID/RUCD Soldiers currently stationed in Korea follow in the footsteps of those who’ve served alongside our South Korean allies for over six decades and many have also fought bravely throughout the globe in the War on Terror. A new photo of the Living Insignia Second Infantry Division Patch, with the current generation, will provide another link in the chain of the Division's extraordinary heritage.
