The portable shower trailers have arrived at the Washington D.C. armory. These beacons of hygiene are fueled by 5,000 gallon water bladders and brought in for the national guardsmen supporting the 58th Presidential Inauguration. Over 7,500 Guardsmen are staged at different locations throughout Washington D.C. Many of the barracks lack the showers necessary for all the visiting guardsmen and women, but with the portable shower trailer the problem is resolved.
Guardsmen participating in the Inauguration come from 43 states, three territories and the District of Columbia to support 11 different civilian agencies. Bringing in so many guardsmen is no easy task. It takes a lot of thoughtful preparation to get the logistics just right. Each staging area for the visiting National Guard units has to make sure the necessities are covered to include food, water and of course hot showers.
National Guardsmen are honored by the opportunity to be at the 58th Presidential Inauguration and also witness and support the peaceful transition of power.
