4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment, is wrapping up 12 days of training in the desert near Fort Bliss, Texas (Dona Ana Range). The main task is to build and increase the speed and accuracy of the six firing platoons. The battalion is running 24 hours a day and "jumping" locations every day.
This exercise, the command posts were broken down into smaller nodes, creating smaller targets that are lighter, faster and more agile-increasing survivability.
4-27 falls under 1st Armored Division Artillery and directly supports 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division.
The unit is currently in the field and finishes up Wednesday, March 15.
