U.S. Airmen from the 116th Civil Engineer Squadron, 116th Air Control Wing, Georgia Air National Guard, pull an overturned truck back upright using a Kubota tractor while clearing a roadway littered with trees, debris, and vehicles from a simulated hurricane during Vigilant Guard Georgia 17-2, Tifton, Ga., March 29, 2017. Vigilant Guard Georgia 17-2 is a Joint Regional Training exercise sponsored by U.S. Northern Command in conjunction with the National Guard Bureau. The scenario for the exercise is a simulated category 3 hurricane that makes landfall and moves through Georgia and Tennessee causing catastrophic damage. The exercise provides National Guard units from Georgia and six other states an opportunity to improve cooperation and relationships with the local, state, regional civilian, military and federal partners in preparation for emergencies and catastrophic events.
