April is recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, or SAAPM, by both military and civilian communities. The Department of Defense, or DoD, observes SAAPM by focusing on creating the appropriate culture to eliminate sexual assault and requiring a personal commitment from all service members at every level. The 2017 SAAPM theme is "Protecting Our People Protects Our Mission." Everyone plays a role in preventing sexual assault, if you see something, say something.
