Interview with the Second Lady of the United States, Karen Pence, who visited with military and civilian leaders during a tour hosted by U.S. Health Clinic at Schofield Barracks to talk about how a form of alternative therapy is being used to help military members and their families heal from difficulties, disabilities or diagnoses. Art therapy has been integrated by Army Medicine as an adjunctive therapy for behavioral health and addiction medicine intensive outpatient programs. 85% of patients surveyed at the national Intrepid Center of Excellence said that the arts program was very important to their recovery.
Programs depicted: "Warriors Eyes on Art", a partnership between USAHC-SB and the Honolulu Museum of Art, "Resiliency Through Art", a partnership between USAHC-SB and MWR - Arts and Crafts Center, "Expressive Arts Group", with the Child and Family Behavioral Health Services at USAHC-SB, and "Oncology on Canvas", a Tripler Army Medical Center program.
