During Shared Accord 2017 US and South African forces continued to build on their partnership by taking part in “Mandela Day” and providing veterinary assistance and dog food to members of the community of Postmasburg. This annual combined, joint exercise is designed to increase the ability of U.S. and South African partner forces to exercise participants’ capability and capacity to conduct African Union/United Nations mandated Peace Keeping Operations.
