    7 Foundational Movement – Lunge

    Secondary Muscle Groups – N/A
    Preparation:
    The Marine will un-rack the weight with the bar across the back of the shoulders and the feet hip width apart.
    Execution:
    The Marine will step forward at a 45 degree angle, keeping the ball of the rear foot planted and the shoulders square to the front. They will lower the hips toward the deck, keeping the front foot flat and the knee over the ankle. The toes on the front foot will point at a 45 degree angle while the shoulders and hips face forward.
    Common Mistakes: - Not keeping front foot flat
    - Turning the shoulders and not keeping them square
    - Pivoting on rear foot
