Interview with Darryl Carpenter, Support Branch Director, Region 9, Incident Management Assistance Team for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Travis Air Force Base is serving as a staging point for FEMA assets. The assets are in response to the wildfires burning in Northern California. Travis executes all relief efforts at the request of civil authorities, who lead the response. The base works with FEMA, local first responders, and other government agencies to respond to requests for military assistance.
