Medically retired Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Nate Hamilton was severely injured while him and his unit were conducting a patrol in Afghanistan in 2010. Nate was walking next to a vehicle when it ran over an improvised-explosive device (IED). The explosion sent shrapnel everywhere and
caused Nate several serious injuries. Those injuries still cause Nate pain to this day and uses the water to cope with the pain.
