FORT HOOD, Texas -- The first flight of 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division Soldiers returned to Fort Hood early this morning from the Republic of Korea.
A welcome home ceremony was held at 4:15 a.m. this morning on Cooper Field here.
Blackjack Troopers are returning to Fort Hood after a nine-month rotation on the Korean peninsula, where they worked and trained side-by-side with their Republic of Korea Army counterparts.
Their mission there was threefold: to deter North Korean aggression, increase combat readiness, and strengthen the U.S. and Republic of Korea alliance.
The remainder of the brigade will return to For Hood in the next several weeks.
