B-1 Navy Band members Calvin Morrow, Simeon Holloway and Jewitt White reflect on their legacy as the first non-mess attendant African-American men in the Navy. Prior to the 1942 formation of the B-1 Navy Band in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, African-American service in the U.S. Navy was limited to mess attendants and stewards.
