Sgt. Brian Kennedy, a signal system support specialist assigned to the Joint Multinational Training Group -- Ukraine (JMTG-U) utilizes his artistic abilities to mitigate the language barrier during a year-long deployment to Ukraine. Kennedy, along with more than 220 New York Army National Guard Soldiers are stationed in Ukraine working with the Ukrainian Army as it strives toward achieving NATO compatibility. Currently, Soldiers from Canada, Denmark, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom are partnered with the JMTG-U in their mission to help modernize the Ukrainian Ground Forces.
