The Marine Corps is striving to improve the motorcycle mishap rate by ensuring all Marines have the appropriate motorcycle training.
The Basic Rider Course (BRC) is a two-day course that covers basic motorcycle riding techniques such as stopping, turning, and counter-steering. Required motorcycle training must be completed prior to operating a motorcycle. Without BRC training, Marines cannot register their bikes on base.
The BRC is free and open to all active duty military and spouses on a space available basis. Training motorcyles are provided during the course.
