The Eighth Army Best Warrior Competition is held annually to recognize and select the most qualified junior enlisted and non-commissioned officer within the Eighth Army. The winners will go on to represent Eighth Army at the U.S. Army Pacific Best Warrior Competition at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii in June. Korean Augmentation To the United States Army (KATUSA) soldiers also competed along-side their U.S. counterparts. KATUSA soldiers serve in U.S. Army units as part of a military exchange program that began in 1950 in the Republic of Korea. Competitors spoke about their reasons for serving in the military, talked about the competition and their experiences serving in South Korea.
