Iraqi Security Forces and Coalition troops continue cross-border artillery fires from Iraq in to Syria. Current operations bolster Syrian Democratic Forces’ acceleration of the campaign to defeat Daesh remnants in Operation Roundup. Phase two of Operation Roundup, targeting Dashisha, Syria, began June 3. Operation ROUNDUP accelerates operations to defeat Daesh remnants. Coalition forces and Iraqi partners established a firing position in Iraq in early June 2018. Airdropped equipment and resupplies have enhanced the speed of the effort. The location enables cross-border fires targeting Daesh remnants in Dashisha, Syria. This effort supports Syrian Democratic Forces on the ground, defeating Daesh in Syria.
