Multiple nations conducted a culminating tactical exercise during Tradewinds 2018 using training they learned throughout the joint, international training exercise June 11, 2018. The exercise started June 10, 2018, when the various partner nations received operation orders and began the planning portion of a targeted raid on the Fort Thomas Hotel in Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis. The exercise concluded with with company movements and a raid of the hotel. Tradewinds is an exercise designed to conduct joint, combined, and interagency partner-nation capacity building, focused on increasing regional cooperation in complex multinational security operations and humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations.
