The Colorado National Guard Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and High-yield Explosive Enhanced Response Force Package conducts a simulated weather related response exercise to a chemical and a mass-casualty incident, June 1, 2018, at the North Metro Fire Training Center, Brighton, Colorado. The CERFP is based at Buckley Air Force Base, Aurora, Colorado.

On order of the Governor, the unit responds to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and high-yield explosive incidents, assisting local, state, tribal, and federal agencies by providing capabilities to perform mass-casualty decontamination, emergency medical services, communications, and casualty search and extraction.
Colorado is one of 17 states with a CERFP. Such units are federally resourced, trained, equipped, and sustained, but state-controlled. The unit is preparing for an external validation, which will take place Sept. 2018.
